David Lindstrom
David Lindstrom is an analyst and journalist covering higher education, civil rights, and compliance culture: how institutions use policy, training, and process to shape what can be said, taught, and investigated. Trained as a cultural anthropologist at UC San Diego, he also holds an MFA in creative writing, and his reporting combines an anthropologist's eye for institutional life with public-records investigation. A former Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay and a fluent Spanish speaker, he also writes on migration.

Tips
I welcome tips about institutional misconduct of all kinds. My particular focus is civil rights compliance in higher education: how universities design, document, and enforce their obligations, and where the paperwork and the practice diverge.
At the University of California, I'm especially interested in:
- Records related to the Advancing Faculty Diversity (AFDP) program
- Campus strategic plans and their implementation
- Faculty training materials and requirements
- Internal reports on institutional goals, metrics, and accountability structures
- Documentation concerning antisemitism, and the UC's resolution agreement with the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights
I do not report on national security matters and do not accept classified material. Please don't send it.
